#152 Chores (Theme #49)

Our Pathfinders took turns at chores around our campsite while we were at the camporee in Oshkosh.

#151 Big Events (Theme #26)

Our Pathfinder club left on August 9 for one of the biggest events in Pathfinder history. More than 35,000 Pathfinders from all over the world gathered in Oshkosh, Wisconsin for a six day youth congress.
I took this picture while sitting in the crowd pictured below. The quality is poor since it was shown on a large jumbo-tron screen and I had to zoom quite a bit. This is the group of Pathfinders on Saturday morning gathered at the stage area. The dark areas are people.

This is an ariel photo that was on the camporee website--just to give a glimpse of how big this event was. The stage area is at the center top of the photo--it was about a mile from there to the end of the camping area at the bottom of the picture--and roughly a mile across also.

#150 Power (Theme #239)

There is a lot of water power here. This is Cumberland Falls on the Cumberland River in KY at Cumberland Falls State Park. It is one of a few places in the world where moonbows can be predicted. Unfortunately, the weekend we were there was not the right one for the moonbow and the water was too muddy for even a rainbow.

#149 Navigational Aids (Theme #196)

A portion of the map we followed on our anniversary trip. Our official destination was London (KY), but we spent most of our time exploring the Daniel Boone National Forest.

#148 Out to Lunch (Theme #218)

Topper joined us for a picnic lunch on Saturday, and for pizza on Sunday.

#147 Hangs on a Wall (Theme #141)

This light fixture was hanging on the wall of the breakfast area in the hotel we stayed at for our anniversary weekend. I liked how it looks in this picture.

#146 Landscape (Theme #165)

A scenic overlook in the Daniel Boone National Forest in Kentucky.

#145 The Games We Play (Theme #319)

Here, Topper is playing games at Cracker Barrel (a restaurant).

#144 Computer (Theme #62)

My husband gave me this giraffe, Topper, for our anniversary. It became our mascot for our anniversary trip--posing in many of the pictures I took. Here Topper is looking at himself looking at himself on my laptop.

#143 Our Town (Theme #216)

Our town had its annual July 4th celebration (yes, I know, a week early) complete with fireworks.

#142 Summer Fun (Theme #309)

Nothing says "Summer Fun" like taking the kids to the pool! Notice that mom is sporting her earrings along with her black (slimming) one piece suit. The kids were playing happily in the water until I walked up with my camera--then they got shy and left the pool (right after I snapped this picture).

#141 Fruits of the Season (Theme #114)

We have a large raspberry patch planted for us by the birds--there are plenty of berries for both us and the birds--they get the ones in the middle that we can't reach.
I picked nearly a gallon this morning--they are in the freezer now--waiting to be turned into raspberry jam.

#140 Closely Cropped (Theme #55) For Iona

As we were driving home from the cemetery today, I saw one of Iona's hay rakes in a field. I told my husband "wait, wait", but someone was right behind us and he couldn't slow down or stop for me to take the picture. I had my camera in my hand and snapped a quick one as we went by--then cropped it for better detail of the hay rakes.
This was my original "drive by shooting".

#139 Polka Dots (Theme #237)

These lilies have polka dots in the centers--enlarge to see them better.

#138 Transparent (Theme #335)

The wings of this dragonfly are transparent.

#137 Angels (Theme #11)

These angels were keeping watch at the cemetery today. Looks like they've been on duty for quite a while.

#136 Risky (Theme #261)

Socks has picked a risky place for his new perch. It's not so bad sitting on the wood stove in the summer time, but come winter, he'll probably wish he'd picked a cooler spot!

#135 Rest in Peace (Theme #260)

I went to the cemetery today to put flowers on my mother's and two aunts' graves. Afterward, I wandered around taking pictures of whatever struck my fancy. I came across this broken winged angel sitting on this tombstone with words that fit this theme perfectly.

#134 Mural (Theme #126)

This mural was on the wall of a prayer garden at the academy where campmeeting was held. I don't know what kind of paint was used, but they had put plexiglass over the painting to protect it from the elements. I believe it was painted by students several years ago.

#133 Tent (Theme #318)

Last week, my son and I went to an old-time campmeeting where many of the attendees stayed in tents like these. This is our tent, shortly after moving in and setting up (my daughter came and stayed a couple days--hence the third bed).
This was taken across the parking lot in an effort to show the number of tents--there are about 10 rows of tents behind this first row.

Campmeeting is my son's favorite event of the summer. (I enjoy it, but he lives for it).
