While taking pictures in the yard yesterday, I came across this dead Cedar Waxwing. I love the bright yellow at the end of the tail. They are such a pretty bird (especially when alive!). (I did try for some "live" shots several days ago, but they kept flying away!)

The colors are pretty...I'm glad you didn't show the whole dead bird :-O
Very sad that you could only capture the colors from a deceased bird. The colors are lovely.
Beautiful feathers for a dead bird - glad you only got the tail!!
You are much more discrete than I was with my skeletal shot! Nice show of the yellow tipped tail feathers.
Beautiful yellow, and how dare wild things act wild, I am trying to get two crows that frequent our place (I call them Heckle & Jeckyl) for food to eat from my hand, its been about three years but no way. They have such beautiful intelligent eyes, but who would trust a human eh?
Anytime you see this many feathers - unless the bird is molting (like chickens) or if it is goose down, you can pretty well assume that the bird is dead, dead, dead!
The greenery of the photo and the shadows help ground the feathers anyway. I do like the way nature painted him. Great photo and very well displayed. And great for the theme.
Great color contrast in this shot!
I think that was a really clever (and discrete) way to show us this bird's lovely plumage. Nicely done!
