#103 Bells and Whistles (Theme #23)

When you live on 15+ acres, calling the family in for meals can be a bit harder than sticking your head out the door and yelling. We hung this bell on the porch when we moved in so we could call in the family when they are outdoors. My daughter was 12 and deeply into the "horse" stage--this was all the horse we could afford to get her.

Such a unique bell. Great shot for the theme.

Love that horse on the bell - really cool! Looks like it has one mean ring for dinnertime!

What a unique bell! Lovely colors. It looks like it has been used a few times over the years. :D

Our "spread" was so distant, a bell man not have done the job. Mama used to throw a pillow up on the porch roof. Sorta like running a flag up the flag pole. Daddy (or whoever was out plowing that day) could see the roof from the field and knew dinner was ready.

Iona, what an interesting solution to how to call them in. How did she get the pillow off the roof?
