As we were driving home from the cemetery today, I saw one of Iona's hay rakes in a field. I told my husband "wait, wait", but someone was right behind us and he couldn't slow down or stop for me to take the picture. I had my camera in my hand and snapped a quick one as we went by--then cropped it for better detail of the hay rakes.
This was my original "drive by shooting".

You really got a close-up with the crop. Iona will be very pleased that someone else found one of these thing-a-ma-jigs. She has been very sick since mid-May, but has started feeling some better. She will be back before long.
Sorry to hear that Iona's been sick--glad to hear that she is starting to feel better. I've been in and out the past couple of weeks and haven't kept up.
Very fun to see them in action! Nice catch even if it was a "drive by".
I sent this posting to Iona tonight. I was able to talk to her a little bit. She is feeling much better now. Thanks for your concern.
Nan: What a find! Glad you spotted this, and even happier that you were able to get a decent shot of it. When I first saw the contraption in the lot at the farm implements store, my inclination was to think that it was a machine that gathered the lose hay so it could be baled. However, I really didn't have a name for it, and I certainly didn't realize (then) that it was for the round bales. The friend who came visiting informed us of that. So now we know. Thanks for presenting this "in the field" as it were, so we could actually visualize it at work. :D
And may thanks to those of you that have been concerned about my health. And thanks DS Esther!
So funny - I'm always doing that too ... "stop, stop.... wait ... wait!" Great cropping!
